More or less talk on the radio
So if you're over here reading, that means you listen to the radio on occasion. If you came here from Waiter Rant, then turn up your speakers and listen. :)
A question to those of you out there in radio-land...do you prefer more or less talk?
Seriously, folks. If you are listening to an opera, would you prefer more "break-ins" to describe the action or give commentary, or do you prefer straight-through, all music, no talk?

I prefer a combination approach. I like to hear (and as a radio host this is what I gave my listeners):
An intro to the whole opera, including characters and performers, then a brief intro to the scene before each Act. Then I let each Act run uninterrupted.
This seemed to satisfy purists and neophytes.
that is actually what I do now, and I have been encouraged to make the breaks a little more frequent by listeners who write in to the station.
